AK-12
The newest and modern Russian assault rifle.


I like AK rifles, but I'm tired of trivial AK47 and 74. So, when I saw Maibatsu's AK12 skin for CSS, I wanted to see it in SMOD. But the skin didn't work in SMOD, probably because of different version of SDKs. However, I found an AK12 skin for CS 1.6, originally made for CSS by Biscuit-Boy, and then converted to Goldsource by MadxXx. It had almost the same model and the identical animations. I thought "What If...?" and tried to convert the view model back to Source. It works! No broken animations, no texture problems, it works great in SMOD. So, after compiled view model, I converted the w_model. It works good too.

-Has distant gunfires sound for NPCs;
-Has the weapon icon.

Also I edited this release: I edited rifle's recoil, because it wasn't working well(in the middle of firing recoil just vanishes away), and also fixed the shell ejection - now shells drop in the correct way. I added correct w_model as well.

The rifle is big, I agree. But If I changed the size, it wouldn't look at least normal. And by the way, the AK-12 looks big in real life too:



But I could be wrong  :P

I smell improper credits. Double check where the model is coming from, cause it might just be by DICE as well.

Wouldn't surprise me. Most probably didn't know the AK-12 existed before BF.

Also, who do I need to bribe for HEV hands?

I downloaded two versions of the skin: the original for CSS and the port to Goldsource. I converted the Goldsource version to Source, and then copied textures from the CSS original version.

Well, I googled for ak-12 skins for CSS and found two very simular skins.
One by Rimuto http://rimuto.blogspot.com/2014/07/ak12-bf4-on-slayer-anims.html
And another by SlaYeR5530 https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=V6QrhU7dNx8
They use the identical animation by SlaYeR5530, but different textures and models.
The version from Rimuto without scope was made by psychedelic. And one more thing - the skin by SlaYeR5530 is earlier than Rimoto's one.
This is all I know. I Hope this helps.
