Zoldat, seems like the normal map is saved in a much newer version, reimport if you can with vtfedit

Comrade, I reimported normalmap and phong textures and also replaced vmf code with your's. Here's the result:




I think it looks... well, at least not as awful as before. What do you think?

Well, I didn't change the view model except for adding "rotate -90" to every anim sequence in qc file.

About world model, however, I had to create it from the view model in 3ds max, because the original skin didn't have the world model, only the view model.

well the smoothing seems to be completely ruined for some reason, you can see it doesn't shade properly, like the model was inverted or something like that. it definitely isn't in the vmt because there isn't any command that would do something like that to the model

i don't really know what's the problem at this point, it all seems like a convoluted mess. go back a few steps until you get the insanely shiny gun, with all the maps etc.

Ok, I returned back the original materials' files. By original it looks like that:





I noticed one thing: in original vtfs' info, the mipmaps value equal 12. Does it have something with the problem?

Well, I'll try to do something then. But I am not sure I can handle it, the gun was built for newer source sdk, after all.
