Trying to stop the zombie_torso from spawning

I have faild in my attempts to stop zombie_torso from spawning when the classic zombie expoldes.
There is even a mistake by "the author" in the code. One zombie (i think randomly) will expolde into two torsos.

I have not found a way to stop it from exploding.
Is it possible to tweak the explode damage required for it to split via script to something silly/impossible so the zombie will die normally before exploding?

The other way I was thinking of replacing the torso .mdl in some way with gibs.mdl That should be possible right?

Another way might be to kill/explode the torso when it spawns, no idea how to do that though.
