Oh sorry, I will remove it!(If u havent already, havent checked) I didnt knew that uploading a .exe isnt allowed. Did I violated Rule 3? If yes, I want to say this isnt a cracked .exe or something, this is just the normal .exe with LAA enabled. I will remove it tough.

I removed it already. falls under #3 (distributing copyright materials = warez). I've had trouble before with Valve so I err on the side of caution.

Attempting to restart steam makes steam revert the file to default, and the fix doesn't seem to work anymore.

Can anyone else confirm?

Works fine for me.

Try to do the fix again, if the .exe gets replaced. Or copy ur fixed .exe and replace the new one with it everytime the .exe gets replaced(Thats what I do, also u made the .exe read only?)

Performed all steps, steam keeps on replacing it.
Well it works if I don't restart steam, but I'm not sure if that has any implications on the software itself.

I think that another way to lessen the amount of crashes is to do what Veteran Gamer did with SMOD Outbreak: change disable_autosave to 1.

It seems to have stopped map change crashing altogether.

I wasn't really speaking directly to you, but if your funny stuff involves "overflowing" the game, perhaps that would explain the crashes you're getting.  :P

This is perfect for my standalone smod hehe.
Super Tnx CL and Omanshow!

edit...
woops! did not work still crashes.
it even crashed much early.
I have 4 gigs of memory on winxp sp3.

edit2...
well the second run went smooth...no crashes after about 10+ mins of play.
Probably needed a little breaking in or whatever.

Like I posted before, try turning on disable_autosave. I've still been getting crashes after this LAA, but turning this console command on has virtually eliminated crashing so far for me.

yeah I did that and seems helping no crash so far. one map from css sci fi mapadd just quits back to menu for some reason but i can load the map with a different mapadd script so probably original scripts to complex or whatever...it does tries to update those node graphs conflicted to the mapadd script probably.

Hey, i've begun using this too. Not that i ever had many crashes, and one of the few maps that did crash on me, still crashes.
Now what i noticed is that Steam removes the .exe on every 2-3 start up for me. And don't go all "Microsoft support" on me, i did every step in this tutorial, didn't skip 1. I even just redid everything.
But no, Steam insist to be ass. It's getting a real pain, since i often restart Smod alot.  :P
