Gabn, I assume that you've changed gameinfo.txt as described in this post http://bsnooch.com/forums/index.php?topic=1360.msg8292#msg8292

Something I need to point out is that, while that works for a majority of other SMODs? Zenith is a unique one where it seems to remain broken.

After correctly setting up the gameinfo.txt and addcontents.txt folders within the SMOD Zenith Foldier, the game opens for a moment showing the standard HL2 startup, that is until the beginning part of the startup (The part where, usually, a man with a valve in his eye is there) ends, leading to the game freezing and crashing, leaving only the sound of an error without an error message.

Do you know what might be the cause here?

Dunno the cause, but I personally use SMOD Redux's (http://bsnooch.com/forums/index.php?topic=1494.msg11980#msg11980) gameinfo.txt and addcontents.txt to get all my SMODs working. Onemanshow updated it December 2016, so it's the latest gameinfo/addcontents I'm aware of.

Try it yourself! On my end, the game crashes even WITH the same kind of gameinfo and addcontents as SMOD Redux Final.

I managed extract some Far Cry, because Takaro CryImporter extremely bugged I managed get animations only for OICW, Rocket Laucher, Pancor and G36, most interesting models in my opinion, here raw converted smd files, but maybe you will need to make some edits in animations: https://yadi.sk/d/fzavyZ0l3JtXKX

Here Taktaro CryImporter, it was not working on my 3ds max 9, but I managed to fix it by just commenting line of code which cause errors, sadly I have no programming knowledge to correctly fix this issue, it seems started to import models, but it can't load animations for some guns, like P90, G36 (I was managed to extract somehow G36 anims, but how I don't remember, just commenting pieces of code which cause errors is not working for this issue), maybe someone with coding skills can fix it: https://yadi.sk/d/H4q6vzsN3JtXai

Just bunch of extracted models from Aliens Colonial Marines. Format is PSK/PSA, you can open them with Milkshape 3d or with 3DS Max using this script: http://www.gildor.org/projects/unactorx

One thing, models in this game are "separated", I mean weapon parts like body, magazine, underbarrel weapons, and other attachments are different models which you need manually combine, that probably made by developers because of weapon upgrades, same thing with characters, many of them have body and head are separate models too, but not all.
