In case anybody missed the stream last week, we did a 2 hour sitdown with Pepsifan04, the creator of SMOD: CryLife, to look at the latest build of "CryLife2".  We dug deep into how his mod works, upcoming developments, SMOD Standalone, and a bunch of other topics.

I have now uploaded the videos onto Youtube in 20-30 min segments. Watch the first one below or click the link to shoot through to the whole playlist!

Just in time for 2015, OneManShow has dropped the FINAL version of SMOD Redux.  This is not some crappy spin-off from a random ModDB user. This is the real deal. Watch the video below for instructions on where to download, how to install, and a quick preview of the mod. Enjoy and show OMS some support for kicking out an update for a mod which so many thought was dead.

We sat down with JuanManShow, creator of SMOD Redux and talked about the History of the (English speaking) SMOD Community and how the mod was discovered by Facepunch users, the first SMOD mods, SMOD Multiplayer, Close Contact, the rise and fall of the Tactical forums and everything in between.

A 50 min oral history with some ranting in between.

Pepsifan04 has released his SMOD Standalone Client to fix all the issues being caused by the Valves update to .vpk format.

Currently it fixes the following issues:
- LUA being broken in SMOD.
- Large Address Aware flag.
- SMOD uses Orangbox Engine.

The installer will extract files to make SMOD operate independent of Steam. It will still require you to own LEGAL copies of Half Life 2 and the Source SDK.

For more information and to download the Installer please visit this thread - http://bsnooch.com/forums/index.php?topic=1360.0

UL forums user dude1234 posted an update to his awesome XML compiler for modding State of Decay. This version fixes a bug that rendered Windows Vista users unable to use the program.
You can check out the official support thread on the Undead Labs forums here.

  • Gnar: Yes.

  • Smitty: Well I mean do it anyway, not to mention a double barreled spaz 12
    July 23, 2017, 12:15:07 PM
  • AlexThePipe: Because I actually just want an excuse to rant about why a gun has two barrels and shoots out grenades tbh.
    July 23, 2017, 02:41:04 AM
  • AlexThePipe: Yes or No, then?
    July 23, 2017, 02:36:02 AM
  • Smitty: I mean, I don't think there is any real retrospec on them, if you ask me, the Vanilla HL2 weapons are just serviceable, but boring, the only real interesting addition is Grabbity Gun
    July 22, 2017, 11:15:18 PM
  • AlexThePipe: I had the thought of putting a retrospective on Valve's Vanilla weapons for hl2 during work yesterday, would anyone like a video of this topic?

  • Smitty: I have made a couple videos on smod, and have gotten a couple people really into it, so I know there is a AUDIENCE for it, the name bsnooch just kind of like, sounds irrelevant, like "bsnooch, what is that a sneeze fourm?"
    July 21, 2017, 12:33:16 PM
  • Pepsifan04: like screaming right into viewer eyes :  It's SMOD related bitches
    July 21, 2017, 12:11:44 PM
  • Pepsifan04: well, the name isn't really helping. we'd need to be called SMOD Emporium or smth
    July 21, 2017, 12:10:39 PM
  • Smitty: To be honest, I love smod right, and a lot of people do, but Bsnooch isn't exactly neon lit, so it dies sometimes, cause its a bit hard to find.
    July 19, 2017, 12:25:17 AM
  • Smitty: SMOD comes and goes, it'll be back soon, don't worry bout it.

  • Gnar: Y'know it's sad to see a website get to this point. I hope Biz keeps this place up and running.

    July 16, 2017, 07:37:29 PM
  • Gnar: So the bots have booty? Or are they selling it?
    July 16, 2017, 05:42:45 AM
  • Smitty: Also, bots!
