If source 2006 could handle it I would have added a HQ version of a Ford Transit or something. IF ONLY!

Im taking last preperations for the SMOD: Realism Beta release. Please keep in mind that this mod is still unfinished and probaly has bugs etc.

Mods, pls dont remove this I will update it soon.

So finally after so long time it finally gets released...

SMOD: Realism

At first I want to clarify that this mod is in Beta stage and will probaly never leave it, sincer I dont have enough motivation to work further on it.

What is SMOD: Realism?
-SMOD: Realism is a Half-Life 2 modification using the famous "Super-Mod" as a base. It combines realistic gun behaviour with the world of Half-Life.

Key features:
-Over 30 weapons, including 30 new realistic weapons + Half-Life 2 weapons like the Gravity Gun and the classy crowbar.
-Randomized events in the HL2 singleplayer campaign, you never know what will happen even tough you already played the mod trough once.
-New NPCs, including L4D like Infected Zombies, The Bullsquid and Houndeye from Half-Life 1, Friendly Soldiers and alot of new Combine troops.
-Enhanced graphics thanks to SMOD.
-Half-Life 1 like squad members: press use on them to make them join your squad.
-Enhanced Combine and Metropolice radio chatter and voices(Credits go to OnemanShow)
-Holdout and Zombie survival gamemode as optional download.(Comming soon)

Bugs/Things you need to know to make the mod work:
Since SMOD: Realism is still beta it does include bugs. Heres a list things you need to know:
-It requires your hl2.exe to be LAA, if you dont know what that is then chek out my tutorial: http://bsnooch.com/forums/index.php?topic=938.0
-Select your difficulty after you edited the other options
-I have not edited the menu options yet, so some options like leaning and "quick-crobwaring"(thanks to Pepsi for the script) must have their key applied trough editing the config.cfg. You can find it in the "cfg" folder in the main folder.
-Due to the Steampipe update fix, the playermodel will be overwriten everytime you go to the options menu, if you want the original playermodel back write this into the console: cl_playermodel models/player/p_gsg9.mdl

Future of the mod:
I've been working very hard on this mod, for several years. After so long time I lost alot of motivation, and dont feel like developing the mod further. However, I dont say that I will be the case for ever. I might get a motivation boost in future.

Credits:
-Mainly: The_Author, Counter-Life, Feather Gust(a.k.a Alvaol63) and Josh Z.
-Pepsifan04 for fixing the SteamPipe problem
-OneManShow, BIZ and Veteran_Gamer for Mapadd references and templates
-Many other people providing models, textures etc. A full credit list can be found inside the mod folder(still incomplete)
-Of course VALVe Software for creating the best FPS ever made.

I'm extremely happy to announce that, after such a LONG wait, the FIRST SMOD:Realism update
HAS BEEN RELEASED.
[/size][/glow]lol i have no idea what the hell

Basically it's a fix for the sound problem, mostly. Now, before you think that the mod had missing sounds for weapons - you're wrong. It's just that the sound/weapons folder was an unorganized mess and contained a million of unneccesary sounds.
Anyway, here's the changelog:
Code: [Select]
// Beta 2
- Removed all of the unneccesary weapon sounds
- Fixed the sound scripts
- Made new origins and ironsights for all weapons
- Changed some weapon sounds
- By fixing the sound scripts, I removed all unneccesary sound entries
- Made use of my new weapon icons (every weapon now has a matching weapon icon)
- Changed a few fonts
- Added matching ammo icons (they will not appear in the ammo counter though)
- Minor GUI changes (gui elements will appear brighter now)
- Fixed weapon and ammo icon issues (hopefully)

Changelog isn't 100% correct, there's also a new font and new weapon icons are in use (which i don't have, so they show up as missing textures).

Okay, so update 2 is coming along nicely. It should include:
 - Lots of script optimizations / changes. Changes include:
   - Completely redone the npc_weapon_randomize script
   - Changed the balance of the weapons (don't worry, no unbalanced weapons)
     - Weapons are in classes now, so the farther you go through the game, the better weapons you have access to.
   - Change some of the npc_replace_model (planned. basically I'm going to change some of the models to reflect the HL2 universe, because as far as I know, CL has added some tacticool soldier outfit to the npc_f_combine, can't confirm though)
 - Mapadd changes
   - Removed / replaced some of the misplaced NPC's (metrocops in the wasteland, prison and etc.)
   - Bugfixes
 - Replaced the P226 with an awesome looking FNP (planned. I'm actually not sure about this, all I know for sure is that I'm gonna need someone to compile world models, I just can't do it myself)

Update 3 will mainly feature weapon/skin improvements and material fixes, as Update 2 should fix most of the script bugs that plagued SMOD:RL.
Also CL, why did you have to make the npc_weapon_randomize script so unneccesarily complicated?

Can someone please upload parts 3/4 to somewhere else? The torrent doesn't seem to have any peers.

What, the P226 doesn't have a muzzleflash? Why?
Maybe it wasn't supposed to have a muzzleflash in the first place.

No idea lol
Well it did in the third weapon update video but I'm doing a reinstall to check if it isn't something I've added, I doubt it though.

I'm getting stuck on 34.4% on the torrent any way to get that fixed? I've tried updating the tracker, redownloading the torrent file, and restarting my computer completely I've never had this problem before
