Title: [IDEA] BIG wishlist of weapons for SMOD

This was in the back of my head for 3 days now so I said "What the hell, I'll post it"
As the title says, we should use this topic to make a list of wishes of weapons/scripts/addons for SMOD.
Anyone capable of making the weapon/script/addon can post the release in the community release section :)

I've always had a thing for revolvers too. Well i guess if there were models with animations lying around i could do the rest. Just a question of finding them and getting permission and i'll give it a crack. Its been a while may be a little rusty but i'll try that. And i'd love to see a shorty remington. Made one a while back but lost it.

Well Montrakaz wanted something ridiculous so I'm making something at the moment :)
And that 50 cal, rapid fire grenade launcher, cannon is possible to make.

What in the fucking hell is that? Some sort of mega-scaled M82 with an underslung grenade launcher? That's feasible in SMMOD, I don't see it working very well in SMOD though. Plus, it would be very hard to get the animations right. That gun is as long as an average person, maybe even longer.

Lets make it fire tank shells as primary (just a huge bullet and smod_custom_explosive.txt should do) and could have smg grenades as its secondary. And as I can see its the Barret m98b that Pepsifan suggested only without a scope.  ;D

It's the Barrett M82. And about the SMG grenades; the primary fire should be as powerful as the secondary (in real life), so that underslung grenade launcher... kind of loses the point.
Imagine what it would be like being hit with a 30mm autocannon round. You would EXPLODE.

You can't have two custom explosives in one weapon:/
Just classic SniperRound as main, and custom_explosive for the secondary, note that you can have separate anims for secondary and primary fire

Anything scifi works for me, could be a conventional concept gun or an anti-matter cannon. As long as it looks high-tech enough for the combine and a plus if they can wield it.

First of all, you are not doing only me a favor, your doing it for the whole forum since I think everyone likes revolvers.
Don't get carried away and do too much as some models might give you trouble.
And I don't think of it as a fetish but more as a really-big-revolver-fan type of guy.

That odd M98 (I think) should have a force set so high on the bullet that it pretty much instantly gibs or glitches crap threw the wall. It be hilarious running through HL2 with it.

Just slap a cannibalized MGL underneath and call it a day. I always imagined it as more of an overkill instagib weapon rather than some sort of realistic long range service provider.

It just screams hip fire and clean up any remnants with the secondary...

I actually imagine it having M82 looks, but with an underslung grenade launcher... but the primary fire actually works like an HMG. Imagine firing .50 BMG rounds with that primary fire of 1000 RPM. That's what I imagine that weapon being.
Sounds ridiculous, but that weapon's idea is ridiculous anyway.

The SMOD Author already got some ridiculous weps ingame that are OP (lasergun, ABgun, shovel, Sweet Banana, Strider Cannon etc.) so why not make this one?  ;D

Looks AWESOME
The only complaint I have is that the texture is blurry for some reason... that shouldn't happen. Have you set your texture quality to something lower than high? It has the same problem that the M98b from SMOD:RL has - I've tried replacing the textures with something else that WAS high quality in screenshots (and tested in CS:S a long time ago) and wasn't blurry, however, it was in SMOD:RL. So I suspect that has to do something with the model.

I've never had the same problem when compiling something, though.

"Realistic" - or atleast as much possible

Holy shpongles, now, that's a lot of gun.

For madness sake, will there be npc support? It would be hilarious if it used the smg animations (the front grip might help support this) and see metrocops fire this thing from the hip. Twenty of them.

I have already made that the only thing that makes the problem is when the rockets spawn they explode immediately since they are in contact with the ground.

This is the custom explosive, the weapon script spawns "LifeGrenade" then "LifeGrenade" spawns 5 "LifeGrenade2" and then "LifeGrenade2" spawns 5 "Boom" Entities which explode like crazy. I tried replacing the boom entity in LifeGrenade2     with "rpg_missile" but as I said they explode instantly.

oh well, as I said these anims break on decompile. I though you were going to use other anims.

Possible, but I doubt that the animations would work properly anyway. I expect weird glitches n' shit.

Whoever compiled these animations like that is a retard. I don't imagine what could he have done THIS WRONG to make his anims break on the latest decompilers on decompile.

They do it on purpose so people can't simply decompile their anims and edit them.

I had posted this in it's own thread earlier, but thought I should put it here anyways.

So, ever since I discovered them in GMod, I've been wanting SLAMs in SMOD.
I was wondering if somebody could possibly make my dream a reality.

I have seen those, but I prefer SLAMs more, mainly because you have the option to either place it on a wall/ceiling/floor or to throw and then detonate it.

Sadly, there is no way to actually make a custom weapon like that. There aren't enough commands n' stuff.
The best thing you may try to do is to reskin the msbomb to look like the SLAM from HL2:DM (or GMod, whatever)

There's indeed no evident way to get a SLAM working as it would in HL2DM. Goodness knows I've tried with custom_explosive before.

If nothing else, you could remotely detonate the existing motion-sensor bombs by binding "ent_fire setmsbomb ignite" to a key.

I have seen in quite a few mods (older redux?) and is pretty easy to do with the hl2dm view model and the normal world model. I still recommend you give npcs the regular npc-only stunstick (weapon_stunstick) though.

Okay, so here's what's going to happen after I finish the revolver pack.
 1) I'm going to texture Vashts's Deagle ( I always wanted to do that )
 2) I'm going to release new weapons called "The Customizable <weapon name here>", basically, weapon releases that can be customized as you will.

If you haven't already, you might want to poke into weapon_custom11.txt. I just can't get the li'l buggers sticking to geometry like Mariobro wanted, and I can't detonate the regular motion-sensing bombs.

It MIGHT be possible to create a weapon CLOSE to the S.L.A.M. since there is a "detonator" section in the weapon_custom script, but there is also the motion sensor part, hmm.
I'll try it but nothing is guaranteed.

EDIT: No possible way. All I got to is the throwable SLAM (with ms sensor) but the detonator won't work even with weapon_custom. Sorry :(

News on the revolver pack again: all of the viewmodels work. Some of them have dirty hacks (for example, the Mateba doesn't have the hammer anymore), but it WORKS!
So far, these guns are in the pack:

 - Colt Python (HL2, default 357 replacement)
 - AMT Automag (CSS)
 - Colt Anaconda (CSS)
 - Mateba Unica 6 (CSS)
 - Dual MP412 REXes (HL2)
 - Manurhin MR96 (CSS)
 - Smith & Wesson M29 Satan (CSS)
 - Smith & Wesson Model 500 (CSS)

CSS means CSS hands, HL2 means HL2 hands.

That's it. ALL of the revolver worldmodels work...
The pack IS going to be released today. No more delays.
Currently the things I have to do is make sure that everything works, make NPC shooting sounds, and fix/improve some VMT's.

That odd M98 (I think) should have a force set so high on the bullet that it pretty much instantly gibs or glitches crap threw the wall. It be hilarious running through HL2 with it.

How about having it send bodies flying?
