Oh and Also if you revert back to pre steam-pipe, it still should work!

Sorry for triple post! But I have fantastic news! I confirm that Smod redux 8 works with steam-pipe versions of HL2, Lost coast and HL2 DM.

Its very simple to fix smod. Heres how:

First install Half-Life 2, Lost Coast and Deathmatch, then If you have updated your HL2 and Lost coast to steam-pipe versions, its rather simple fixing the smod itself.
All you have to do is install Source SDK Base 2006, restart steam, and launch SMOD.
Steam will create following files in your steamapps folder:

appmanifest_320 which is HL2 DM or Lost coast
appmanifest_220 which is HL2
appmanifest_340 HL2DM or Lost coast.

multiplayer ob binaries.gcf
base source engine 2.gcf
source materials.gcf
source models.gcf
source sdk base.gcf
source sounds.gcf
source 2007 shared materials.gcf
source 2007 shared models.gcf
half-life 2 2007 base content.gcf
source 2007 shared sounds.gcf
source 2007 binaries 2.gcf
source engine.gcf
half-life 2 game dialog.gcf
half-life 2 content.gcf
lostcoast content.gcf

Then if you have done everything correctly, your disk space should be minus 6.21gb because of GCFs.
And if you go to your steamapps folder, username folder, you should have source sdk base folder in there, which makes Smod work.

Thats it! Very simple way of getting smod working. Even after steam-pipe update.
