TF2 in SMOD?
« on: August 11, 2013, 03:43:07 AM »
I've always had this idea in the back of my mind that if a huge team/someone with a lot of time on their hands took the time to put many TF2 assets in SMOD it would make a pretty cool mod.
With the 30 weapon limit I'm not completely sure it's possible but who knows..
I think most things in TF2 are hats anyway so I don't think a few missing weapons will matter.
Just throwing this out there wondering of possibilities.

Since you are now allowed to port items between Valve games, I see no reason not to. However, I suggest finding some good realistic textures to apply to the weapons as they look too cartoony otherwise.

Or perhaps my Stock Rocket Launcher skin on GB?

Rocket jumping in Smod would make my day.
This is a catchy signature.

TF2 is a joke well for me...it's perfect for 6-12 years old kids by the way it looks...I prefer playing the old one.
I might play tf2 if there's some model replacement pack to make it look more mature or COD-ish...haha...DON'T FLAME!
I'm so in-love to SMOD...PERIOD!

What kind of parallel universe is this where TF2 is a kids game and CoD is a mature game? Seriously, everytime I join a lobby in some CoD: MW game the first thing I hear are kids screaming into a mic. TF2 has those too, but its not that bad as in CoD. +Gameplay is much better in TF2, and the cartoon style of TF2 is truly unique, VALVe did a great job if you ask me. Damn, now I started to flame...

TF2 may look cartoonish, but believe me, it's a VERY interesting and fun game at its core. The entire team must cooperate if they want to win in TF2, while in CoD you have free for all. That's not so interesting imo.

I really wouldn't complain on TF2 looking too cartoonish as a reason to disregard it. It is typical 13-year old logic that if something looks realistic and bloody and manly it should be regarded as better over that which does not. It's pretty immature.

Overall I do prefer realistic looking games, but it's not a necessity if the gameplay is solid and I don't get to fight another horde of talibans and russians, those two are so dull at this point.

Yet they are really popular at this point... let's rather shoot some Combines in the face.

:o

I feel like I found Bigfoot. I didn't actually think I'd see someone knock TF2 because it doesn't look realistic enough, man. TACTICAL OPERATOR! TIER I! OSCAR MIKE! M4A1-M203!

That was me. I converted the Minigun with HEV hands, but never properly finished it.
