Possible to pull from total ammo reserve?
« on: October 24, 2013, 03:00:58 AM »
I have a weapon that uses only one round, before it has to be reloaded. However in the model replaced the Scout in CSS, and that had a 10 round mag, So what it did is that it used a slightly longer reload for when the 10 round mag limit was reached. I want the SMOD version to pull from a total ammo reserve, would that work?

If not I can try a hacky method by just getting rid of the reload animation.

hmph.
Pretty sure that putting in -1 in the total clip size does something like that. Think how grenade ammo works.
I think you may have to tinker with the flags if you do this.

-1 sort of worked but it wouldn't fire. Instead I fixed it by making this little sequence:
$sequence reloadtest "reloadtest" ACT_VM_RELOAD 1 fps 1000.00
It reloads the gun instantly after it's done firing.

I really wonder how to make it work with putting -1 in the clip field, it just has to work. The crowbar has that, the grenade has that and they both work. Maybe it has a bit of scripting? (I mean those weapons are just hard-coded to behave like that)
