Ahh! Dammit I have no Css textures. The problems never end!
this:
Code: [Select]
"GameInfo"
{
   game       "HALF-LIFE 2 SMOD"
   title       "HALF-LIFE 2 SMOD"
   type      "singleplayer_only"
   "icon"       "smodicon"

   FileSystem
{
SteamAppId 215 // This will mount all the GCFs we need (240=CS:S, 220=HL2).
ToolsAppId 211 // Tools will load this (ie: source SDK caches) to get things like materials\debug, materials\editor, etc.

SearchPaths
{
Game |gameinfo_path|.
Game hl2
Game "|gameinfo_path|..\..\common\Half-Life 2\hl2"
Game "|gameinfo_path|..\..\common\Counter-Strike Source\cstrike"
}
}
}
and this:
Code: [Select]
"Additional contents list"
{
"Contents" {
// "LostCoast" {
// "path" "lostcoast"
// "id" "340"
// }
// "hl2" {
// "path" "hl2"
// "id" "220"
// }
// "HL2MP" {
// "path" "hl2mp"
// "id" "320"
// }
// "HL1:S" {
// "path" "hl1"
// "id" "280"
// }
"CS:S" {
"path" "cstrike"
"id" "240"
}
// "DOD:S" {
// "path" "dod"
// "id" "300"
// }
//        "Episode 1"{
//        "path" "episodic"
//          "id"   "380"
// }
}
}

Note that this method may not work for some people (most of ppl, I'm afraid) but it's worth a try

EDIT: can someone give me a name of CSS folder inside common? cuz now, I'm just guessing...

Can you post a picture? You might be having the same issue PaiCrai had in this thread, which can be solved by extracting CSS .vpk's to your smod folder.

A better way of mounting CSS is to mount CSS from a fake addon. It won't overwrite anything important and HL2 and such should take priority.

Addon? Does SMOD support addons?

to be precise, fake source mod
extract all css files to a separate folder inside sourcemods (for eg. css_files)
add some kind of gameinfo.txt (smod gameinfo.txt works as well)
and then mount the fake mod via gameinfo in actual SMOD
Code: [Select]
Game "|gameinfo_path|..\css_files"
I think that is what   Monkatraz was thinking about...

Shouldn't that, in theory, work?
You should get all of the CSS files without any overwriting.
Thanks Pepsi, I'll try this method, I need CSS files too.

No. It uses addcontents but that should work fine as well. Go to the addcontents tutorial and look at OneManShows post for the addcontents version.
