Someone upload multiplayerobbinaries.gcf?
« on: December 06, 2013, 02:02:36 AM »
That's probably not the right name, but can somebody look for it and upload to their dropbox or something?

In an attempt to fix SMOD Redux/CryLife, I deleted it as it was a fix somewhere. This stops the game from running at all now.

Damn.
Is there any way to get it legitmately? I've tried reinstalling/launching several games but haven't got it back.

It might be in a VPK. I have no idea if you can even create gcfs though. Although you shouldn't need gcfs to play SMOD? Thought the steampipe fix fixed that.

They potentially could be in a VPK, all you would need to do that way is to simply extract them to SMOD... I guess.
But since SMOD is a mod for Source SDK Base 2006, and by the looks of it, you're trying to get multiplayer Orange Box binaries, the game shouldn't even boot with those executables.
What you actually need is to fix your Source SDK base 2006, if SMOD doesn't work.

I would take 404's advice and try fixing your SDK 2006 Base.

Working, but CSS maps are broke despite having CSS

For some reason steampipe fix does now work with CSS, idk why...

EDIT: I've just realized why steampipe does not work with Css:
That is because Hl2 uses materials/models/stuff from sdk2006 which is not on stempipe, and Hl2 maps are loaded straight from their directory in HL2.
CSS does not have any files in any sdk...

So I can't play any CSS map, because CSS SCI FI is also experiencing this.
Also, none of the sounds for the custom weapons are coming in for CSS SCI FI, the same problem that happened when I tried adding weapons to SMOD40a.

I'd take a shot at fixing it myself, but fitzroy_doll personally requested that I not modify CSS SCIFI for public or even private usage, so my hands are tied. :-\
Sadly, we can't do much about CSS SCI FI...

The only solution for CSS missing textures is to extract CSS .vpk files somewhere and make a fake addon ( here )
for the second problem, chceck your weapon soundscripts

The VPK you talk about isn't in my CSS folder
