NPC Wallhacks? [SOLVED]
« on: August 25, 2014, 03:55:10 AM »
Hey Bsnooch community I just got a quick question. It seems that my enemy and friendly npcs can see through walls and start shooting randomly at each other. Is there anyway to change this so that they will only engage each other when then are in view? It kinda takes away from the experience when enemies just try shooting through walls and don't actually try to engage me  :-\

I believe this is an issue with improved enemy accuracy and/or aggression. Try lowering one of these and check the results.

If the "BurstMin" value (under "weaponSpec"-"NPC" section) defined in custom weapons' txt file in smod\scripts\ folder is larger than 3 or 4, NPCs with that weapon are likely to keep shooting even after losing visual contact, and thus accidentally kill friends or foes through the wall, since they do pretty well estimating foes' position. If it's the case, try setting the "BurstMin" lower than 3 for non-suppressing-fire-purposed weapons.

try turning off bullet penetration and see if that is a cause as well.

Thanks guys:) Changing the "Burstmin" as well as changing the aggressiveness of the combine solved the problem. Thanks for the suggestions.
