Any good In-Game Recording Software aside from Fraps?
« on: October 19, 2015, 10:00:54 AM »
I've been wanting to make my own Lets-Play & Video Game Commentary Videos for quite sometime, but I can't seem to find any Good Software, I've used Fraps but it lags any Game I'm Playing.

So I was wondering if you guys know any Better Software/Good Alternatives to Fraps.

Shadowplay if you have a stronger Nvidia card. Probably the best recording tool atm & it's free. If not then try another program that uses H. 264 codec.

AFAIK "preadator" (MSI - version of shadowplay) works also with non-MSI cards.
It comes with MSI Afterburner and gives almost no performance drop but lacks in quality when compared with Fraps/DXtory/Bandicam (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Q8FnMZXnMYY  this video is recorded using predator, no extra compression afterwards, except youtube).
I'd also recommend DXtory, It's much more advanced than fraps and you'd also need to find a nice codec to go with it ("Lagarith losless codec" is the most popular one)

To sum it up:
I'd recommend DXtory - it's a very powerfull tool, but requires some setup.
Shadowplay/Predator - if you want maximum performance.

and a friendly tip: save/record all of your videos to a PARTITION with the highest write speed - it might be the same drive physically, but writing speeds can differ between partitions.

Same physical HDD's are surrounded by the blue rectangle
