(Request) Compiling a weapon model for Source SDK 2006
« on: November 22, 2018, 10:47:43 AM »
Howdy.

I'd like some help with compiling. I can't compile for Source SDK 2006, because of the "Can't find steam app user info" error, which is only fixable with the Steamappdata.vdf, but that file was removed from Steam by Valve a while ago, so I can't do anything on my own.

I need someone to compile these 3 models for SDK 2006 (this is only for personal use): *deleted*

The QC files are in place and ready to go, I just need someone to compile them.

Thanks in advance.

To my knowledge, you can't anymore. Unless you have a very old compiler, it is impossible.

Well, from what I understand, those who got steamappdata.vdf before it got erased can still do it, but I don't know if there are any people like that active on these forums.

I have a working unofficial Source SDK and it has the SteamAppData.vdf file. Here is is: http://www.mediafire.com/file/h8t8z9csndd4lc1/SteamAppData.rar/file
It was in the "config" folder of my SDK. Guess, you should put it there as well.
Hope that will help  :)

Wow, it worked! Can't believe I finally fixed this cursed problem. Thank you so much, you're a lifesaver!

Also, I fixed it by placing SteamAppData.vdf on "SourceSDK/bin/ep1/bin/config". I tried the other config folders aswell, but they didn't work.
