Just wondering.

I'm an avid player of SMOD: Tactical and I thought that the Cinematic Mod's take
on the Half Life 2 campaign would be a perfect fit for it.

But is it actually possible to just dump the mods map files to replace
the default ones in any smod folder?

Hmm, if you can get the source files for the maps.
They were made for a different version of source (ala source 2013) so you cant just drag and drop them.
somebody know how to port models?

You can do this, but you will have to recompile (for SMOD) all the maps and models.

To recompile models (all), use my tutorial: https://gamebanana.com/tuts/13199   I don't know how to recompile maps :-\  It is also important to note that after recompiling the model, you need to use its previous phy. the file, I mean the one that was before recompilation. This is very important.

Its very unlikely to port the maps to smod since there are no source files for it.  :-\

Also, Cinematic mod uses high fidelity materials, so you have to rewrite them yourself.
As for the maps, I think there's a BSP Decompiler, but I think it's out of date.

Have you tried to use CS:GO textures in smod?
I did try to use a skybox texture and had to re-save it with an older version of VTFEdit in order to use it in SMOD.
But i don't know if the version was responsible or the check boxes from the original texture file, that i checked with a newer version of VTFEdit and re-set it in the older version.

well sometimes that some things in the vmt file are not compatible with source sdk base 2006, let alone smod.
As well as some material files having a incredibly high png type format.
somebody know how to port models?
