[SMOD] HPC command tutorial!
« on: October 17, 2009, 04:30:38 PM »

HPC = High Priority Content

With the HPC command we can load additional content into SMOD or any of its various mods, without actually over-writing any of its files. For example lets say you have a custom weapon that you downloaded... Instead of dropping the models and materials into your SMOD folder, we can load them into the game from another folder anywhere on your hard-disk. This can be very helpful, as you can test out custom models and weapons in game without having to worry about digging through your SMOD folder to delete them later.

HPC folder - THis is the folder where you wish to place content which will be loaded on top of your SMOD game. It can be named anything and be placed anywhere on your hard-disk.

**NOTE: It is important to note that the HPC folder needs to keep the same structure as your SMOD folder. You can't just dump a bunch of models and materials into one folder and expect SMOD to understand what you are trying to do.

1.) Open your Steam games list.

2.) Locate SMOD or your favorite SMOD mod.

3.) Right-click on it and select properties.

4.) In the properties menu, click 'Set launch options...'

5.) Now, you need to find your HPC folder and get the directory of where it is located. Note that you can put the HPC in any directory you want and you can name the folder anything you want.

6.) Back under your games 'Launch Options' add the command -hpc followed by the directory where your patch is. Then click OK. See pic below for an example.
